An antique Nippon rare tea set. There are 5 cups and 5 saucers one creamer one sugar bowl and one teapot. Sugar bowl has no lid. Nippon literally means Japan. This set was made in the 1890s. It’s hand-painted cobalt blue pink roses green leaves and gold gilding with white moriage. The cups are eggshell China. You can see the light through them. They’re all in perfect condition no cracks no breaks no scratches. The teapot measures 7 1/2 inches wide from the spout to the tip of the handle. The teapot measure 16 inches in diameter 3 3/4 inches deep. The opening measures 2 3/4 inches in diameter and 6 inches tall with a lid on. The bottom of the teapot measures 3 inches in diameter. The creamer measures 5 1/4 inches wide from the spout to the tip of the handle. The opening measures 2 1/4 inches in diameter and the bowl measures 12 1/4 inches in diameter. It measures 3 3/8 inches tall. The saucers measure 5 6/8 inches in diameter. The tea cups measure 4 inches in diameter and 2 inches deep.
